Hackers have found a new way to hack smart TVs and this can be done with no direct access to the TV using broadcast signals.
According to a recent report, hackers can now use terrestrial radio signals and are able to hack a large amount of the Smart TVs that are available at the moment.
This is done buy using a ow cost transmitter that embeds malicious code into a TV signal, it can be sent to devices nearby and has apparently been used on two models of Samsung’s Smart TVs that are running the latest software.
“Once a hacker has control over the TV of an end user, he can harm the user in a variety of ways,” Rafael Scheel, the security consultant who publicly demonstrated the attack, told Ars. “Among many others, the TV could be used to attack further devices in the home network or to spy on the user with the TV’s camera and microphone.”
