Google has today unveiled their new CAPTCHA technology named reCAPTCHA which has been designed to protect your websites from spam and abuse that make it much easier for real people to pass through.
Google have created the new reCAPTCHA technology as a new free service and have designed it to use advanced risk analysis engine and adaptive CAPTCHAs to keep automated software from engaging in abusive activities on your site.
Google uses images from the physical world by creating CAPTCHAs out of text that is shown on Street View imagery. When users verify the text the information is used by Google Maps to make the services content more precise and complete.
“Purposefully designed. And actively aware. reCAPTCHA knows when to be easy on people and hard on bots. Our easy CAPTCHAs are a breeze for legitimate users.
Millions of CAPTCHAs are solved by people every day. reCAPTCHA makes positive use of this human effort by channeling the time spent solving CAPTCHAs into digitizing text, annotating images, building machine learning datasets. This in turn helps preserve books, improve maps, and solve hard AI problems.
reCAPTCHA is built for security. Armed with state of the art technology, it always stays at the forefront of spam and abuse fighting trends. reCAPTCHA is on guard for you, so you can rest easy.”
