Google has announced that it will be integrating its Google Map Maker into Google Maps, the project started back in 2008 and the service has been suspended due to people adding stuff to the maps which they shouldn’t.
Google will now transfer the features from Google Map Maker to Google Maps and it will still offer a number of editing features.
Google Map Maker will be retired in March 2017.
Since 2008, the Google Map Maker community has edited and moderated millions of features to improve the Google Maps experience for users worldwide. To make it easier for all Google Maps users to contribute changes to the map while at home or on the go, we’ve started to graduate functionality from Map Maker to Google Maps on both desktop and mobile.
