A new application has been for Google Glass called Drivesafe which has been designed to primarily help stop drivers falling asleep at the wheel.
The new Google Glass Drivesafe app is now available for Google Glass explorers to use and is now available to download from the companies website with full instructions on how to install the new application onto your Google Glass eyewear.
The new Google Glass Drivesafe application is currently in its alpha development stage of the current time and its developers have a disclaimer on its website stating that you should not rely on it in any way and it is not guaranteed to save your life.
“DriveSafe is not liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur while using DriveSafe,” the site said. “Be sure to be well rested and comfortable before driving, and keep your eyes on the road (DriveSafe can be used simply with your voice).”
Even with the development of such applications Google Glass might not be the best device to wear whilst driving as it is definitely a distraction and the U.K. government is considering a ban throughout the UK on using Google Glass whilst driving.
Google has even updated its Terms of Service stating that Google devices should not be used “in a way that distracts you and prevents you from obeying traffic or safety laws.” For more information on the new Google Glass Drivesafe app jump over to the official Drivesafe app website for details.
