Google has revealed a new look and design for Google Fit, the company is about to launch their Pixel 3 smartphones, so this explains the new design.
Google has said that the new Google Fit is designed to get you moving more and to get you to reach the recommended weekly activity to keep you fit and healthy.
New Features and Goals
The new Google Fit is centered around two simple and smart activity goals based on AHA and WHO’s activity recommendations shown to impact health: Move Minutes and Heart Points.
When it comes to your health, it’s important to move more and sit less. Earn Move Minutes for all of your activity and get motivated to make small, healthy changes throughout your day, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or catching up with a friend over a walk instead of a coffee.
Move Minutes are designed to encourage you to move more and sit less. Every bit of movement throughout your day counts, whether it’s taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking during your lunch break, or even doing household chores. These small changes can add up to significant health benefits over time.
Heart Points, on the other hand, are earned for activities that get your heart pumping harder. This includes brisk walking, running, or any other activity that increases your heart rate. The goal is to help you achieve the recommended amount of physical activity that can lead to better cardiovascular health and overall well-being.
Integration with Other Devices and Apps
One of the standout features of the new Google Fit is its ability to integrate seamlessly with other fitness devices and apps. Whether you use a Wear OS smartwatch, a fitness tracker, or other health apps, Google Fit can aggregate all your data in one place. This makes it easier to track your progress and stay motivated.
For example, if you use a Wear OS smartwatch, you can get real-time stats on your wrist, including heart rate, steps taken, and calories burned. Additionally, Google Fit can sync with popular fitness apps like Strava, Runkeeper, and MyFitnessPal, allowing you to have a comprehensive view of your health and fitness data.
Google Fit also offers personalized coaching and tips based on your activity levels. If you haven’t been very active, the app might suggest simple ways to get moving, like a short walk or a quick workout. As you become more active, the recommendations will adjust to help you continue improving your fitness.
