Google is apparently facing a class action lawsuit in the US relating to the original Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The lawsuit is alleging that both the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones had defective microphones from the start. The lawsuit is also alleging that Google knowingly sold defective smartphones.
The lawsuit is claiming that there were widespread complaints about the microphones on the two handset shortly after they were released.
Google did acknowledged issues with the microphones on the handset in March of last year and fixed devices under warranty. The lawsuit is claiming that these devices that were fixed under warranty continued to have the issues.
The two plaintiffs in the lawsuit against Google did not get their handsets repaired by Google and they are apparently now out out warranty. Google did have some problems with the Pixel 2 and ended up extending the warranty to two years, they did not do this with the original Pixels.
