The AlphaGo artificial intelligence system DeepMind, created by Google has this week defeated the world’s number one GO player Ke Jie and has taken the lead 1-0 up in three-game match.
The artificial intelligence is surprising its developers by being 10 years ahead of where it should be. Under the pseudonym “Master” AlphaGo used for a recent series of online matches, during which it won 60 games straight.
DeepMind CEO and co-founder Demis Hassabis explained :
“I think it was a really wonderful game – Huge respect to Ke Jie for playing such a great game and pushing AlphaGo to its limits.
