Google has rolled out a new update for their Gmail Android app in the form of Gmail 4.9 which brings with is a number of enhancements and tweaks. Together with a new feature that enhances the ability to share documents from within your Google Drive cloud storage.
Google has also now added improved autocomplete suggestions for your contacts when you start typing in the email contact fields, as well as making them faster to appear.
The new update has now made it easier for Android users to seamlessly send out files that are located in Google Drive. Google explains :
“It’s now easier for you to share files with friends and family—simply insert Google Drive files directly into your Gmail messages on your Android phone or tablet. If the file isn’t shared with the person you’re sending it to, you’ll get the option to change your sharing settings before you send it. “
Other features include :
– Full right-to-left (RTL) support for Arabic, Hebrew and Persian
– In any view, swipe from the edge to access the left side menu. You will now also find Settings, Help and Feedback here.
– Learn why a message ended up in spam with an explanation at the top of the message
– Visual updates, including profile pictures in the account switcher
The new features will be rolling out over the coming days says Google and more information is available over on the Gmail Google Plus page.
