Flux Smartwatches has launched a new Kickstarter campaign this week to raise the required capital needed to take its GLIGO Watch One E-Ink hybrid smartwatch into production. The minimalist smartwatch has been specifically designed for a “modern world” and offers a two year battery life thanks to the E-Ink display and hybrid functionality. If all goes well worldwide shipping is expected to take place next month. The design team at Flux Smartwatches explain more about the design process and inspiration behind the smartwatch features and unique screen.
“The Gligo Watch One is a minimalist E-Ink smartwatch that focuses on simplifying and complementing your unique modern lifestyle. We started by focusing on the smart display. Our display needed to be different than the other displays on the market today. We wanted our watch to have a minimalist style and be extremely power efficient, so we designed a new groundbreakingly vibrant E-Ink display. Our E-ink display is visible in direct sunlight and has a full-use battery life of 6 months! Next we focused on the watch style.”
The Gligo Watch One is available in three different case colours offering Black, Silver, or Gold. The Gligo Watch One connects with your smartphone displaying notifications for Email, Text, Calls, Alarms, Calendar Events, Hydration Reminder, Heart Rate Reading, and a Sedentary Reminder an easy to read E-Ink display.
