GameStop has started taking trades on used iOS devices that people want to swap for store credit. The iPhone and iPad are serious gaming devices along with the iPod touch and it’s no surprise that GameStop is taking trades. 9to5Mac reports that sources are telling it that GameStop will start carrying the entire line of iOS devices.
That would presumably mean that it will be selling the devices new and used as well. Presumably, this is a move that will get GameStop in place to sell the iPhone 5 and benefit from the hoards of used iPhone 4 smartphones that will be left on the market when people upgrade.
The rumor is still circulating that the iPhone 5 will be offered on all carriers in the US. That means if true this will be the first item that the iPhone was on Sprint and T-Mobile in the US. I wonder if GameStop has plans of somehow selling iOS games in the form of vouchers.
