FlyKly has created a new and innovative device which allows users to easily add electric power to almost any push-bike they might own. The FlyKly Smart Wheel originally launched over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website last year and raised more than $700,000 to help the concept make the jump to production.
The FlyKly Smart Wheel has been designed to offer a lightweight and highly efficient electric motor for cyclists to enjoy, that is encased in an all-in-one design capable of fitting on the rear hub of practically any bicycle. To learn more about this innovative FlyKly Smart Wheel check out the Kickstarter video below.
“Smart Wheel is here to offer a brand new perspective on the invention know as the bicycle: it will make an end to needless effort spent on pedaling, to being tired all the time, to being afraid of having your bike stolen.Smart Wheel now turns a ride through busy streets into a gentle breeze and flattens the steep hills into the horizon so you can finally focus on the road ahead.”
Having a Smart Wheel on your bike means distances are now becoming shorter. By quickly replacing your old rear wheel with this minimalistic pedal assist you’re now able to turn virtually any bicycle into an electric powered one. Just start pedaling and the Smart Wheel starts kicking in at speeds up to 25 mph. It can take you as far as 50 miles on a single charge which should be more than enough for your daily ride to work or school – and back! And in case you do run out of power you can always recharge it by riding downhill or pedaling on your own.”
Even though the Kickstarter campaign has now finished, if you are interested in owning the FlyKly Smart Wheel and attaching it to your bike for a little extra power jump over to the FlyKly website for more details and the ability to preorder for $590. It’s also available in a range of colours to suit your bike and style, as well as being available in a glow-in-the-dark finish for night riders.
