Epson is all about the printers and the company makes a printer for every need. The latest offering from the company is the Stylus Photo R2000 printer that has all sorts of features. The printer uses new Epson ink pigments for vivid color that lasts a long time. The printer also has a larger paper tray that is good for up to 50% more prints before needing refilled.
The R2000 has a new MicroPiezo print head with AMD and UltraChrome Hi-gloss 2 inks. It has an eight-color ink set to get more colors than your typical four-tank printer can manage. This printer is aimed right at the photographer that takes high-resolution photos with a DSLR and wants a printer capable of printing them in high-resolution as well.
The printer uses AccuPhoto HG image technology to maximize the color gamut. The special print head allows for a resolution of up to 5670 x 1440 and it has both photo and matte black ink cartridges that it will select from automatically. The printer will ship in May for $499.99.
