If you’re like me and sometimes can’t bear to look at your ever-increasing To-Do list, a new iPhone App called EpicWin that’s currently in development might help you out.
The EpicWin iPhone App converts your To-Do list into an RPG game, which sounds much more inviting than your average To-Do application. Check out the demo video after the break.
Transforming Tasks into Adventures
Rather than simply crossing off tasks once completed, the EpicWin app gives you points for completing tasks that then develop your character. Completing each task improves and develops your character in an ongoing quest to level-up, gain riches, and develop skills. This gamification of mundane tasks can make even the most tedious chores feel like an epic adventure.
For example, if you have a task to clean your room, completing it might earn you a new piece of armor or a magical item that boosts your character’s abilities. The more tasks you complete, the stronger and more skilled your character becomes. This not only makes task management more engaging but also provides a sense of accomplishment and progress that traditional To-Do lists often lack.
Social Integration and Community Engagement
Every completed task in your To-Do list moves you forward on the quest map, uncovering rare items and new locations. This feature adds an element of exploration and discovery, making the process of completing tasks more exciting. Additionally, you will be able to share your achievements and items with friends via Facebook or Twitter, adding a social dimension to the app.
Imagine completing a big project at work and then sharing your newly acquired “Epic Sword of Productivity” with your friends on social media. This not only provides a sense of pride but also encourages others to join in and start their own quests. The social integration aspect of EpicWin can foster a sense of community and friendly competition, motivating users to stay on top of their tasks.
Moreover, the app’s developers are considering adding features like team quests and collaborative tasks, where you and your friends can work together to achieve common goals. This could be particularly useful for group projects or family chores, turning what might otherwise be a tedious task into a fun and engaging activity.
There is no release date at the moment, but the developers hope to have the app launched within the next month or so. Given the growing interest in gamification and productivity tools, EpicWin has the potential to be a game-changer in the way we manage our daily tasks.
