VIA is an environmentally friendly shoe which offers a breathable knit style construction that is also 100% weatherproof and constructed from recycled ocean plastic. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the eco-friendly boot which has been created by VIA Design Lab based in the United States.
Launched via Kickstarter this month the project has already raised over $62,000 thanks to over 500 backers with still 37 days remaining on its campaign. Pledges are available from $89 for super early bird backers and worldwide shipping is expected to take place sometime around August 2019.
“A single plastic bottle can kill over 100 marine lives. Marine life often eats plastic. This starves and kills them. Plastic litter may not decompose for 500 years. It will continue to find affect oceanic ecosystems. Small decisions like choosing an eco-friendly product or saying no to single-use plastic makes a huge difference for the future of our planet. One pair of VIA shoes can help recycling approximately 30 gram of ocean plastic. 100% waterproof and breathable shoes designed to protect your feet while looking good!”
“There’s nothing worse than wet or soggy socks and smelly feet. VIA’s are made with Nano-Tech membranes. They keep your feet dry and fresh for up to TWO hours! The shoes’ foldable high-top flaps fit snug around the ankle and stop things from getting into your shoe. This means, no more wet socks and clunky rain boots. VIA’s can be customized to your own style. Change them from high-top and low-top.”
