Smithson Martin has unveiled a new style of DJ mixing desk, which uses a transparent multi-touch screen to allow DJs to spin their discs. The new Emulator mixing desk features over 130 controls, and is constructed from durable toughened glass. With it being see through, it allows the audience to easily see the DJ in action.
The new Emulator system comes in a variety of size including 32″, 42″ and 46″ versions, and uses a 2200 lumen short throw projector. The Emulator comes with MIDI controller PC software which currently only works with Traktor Pro, and has been designed for Windows 7. With a Mac OS X version currently underdevelopment, together with Ableton, Serato and Virtual DJ support.
The Emulator rig costs start from £4,300 or $6,665 depending on the size you choose. More information is available from the Smithson Martin website.
