UK mobile carrier EE has announced that it is launching some new smartphone plans called Anytime Upgrade.
These new plans are designed to let you upgrade your handset to the latest device, although there are some fees involved to let you upgrade early.
If you upgrade in the first six months of the contract you will have to pay an upgrade fee of £200 and if you upgrade between 6 and 12 months you will have to pay a fee of £100.
“We’re seeing more and more outstanding devices launched every year, and many customers don’t want to wait 24 months to upgrade. So we’re introducing new Upgrade Anytime plans, to ensure they can get the latest smartphones in their hands when they want them, and stay connected with the most advanced 4G network in the UK.”
Customers on an Upgrade Anytime plan can upgrade from 15 days after opening a contract. All they need to do is trade in their old phone and sign up to a new 24-month contract. If upgrading in the first year, an upgrade fee applies*
