EA-owned PopCap as well as independent developer Wooga have announced that their games will no longer be available on Google’s beleaguered Plus service in the coming days. The hardest blow will probably be the removal of the hugely popular Bejeweled Blitz, with Wooga’s Bubble Island and Diamond Dash joining it.
Wooga has “decided to remove certain games from Google+ because we have a much larger following on Facebook and they are active users.” PopCap’s reasons echo those given by Wooga, but adds that “Google is a valuable gaming partner for PopCap and EA, and we’ll continue to develop for Google platforms.” Which to be fair is technically true, even Plants vs Zombies made it to Android eventually.
