Its being reported that a number of new Droid X users that their phone screen start flickering and seeing vertical banding without warning and in some cases the Droid X screen has died all together rendering the phone useless.
However, Motorola has resolved the problem and Verizon is replacing affected units with new glitch-free models if you have been affected. Reporting that only 1% of users of the new phone have been affected.
A Statement from Verizon for affected users:
“Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of Droid X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact Motorola customer support centre or Verizon Wireless.”
Verizon has verified that anyone with the screen problem on their device will receive a replacement phone.
