We recently heard about Cecilia Abadie, who got a traffic ticket for wearing Google Glass whilst driving in California, and is currently fighting the ticket in court.
We also heard that some states were looking into Google Glass, and now it looks like driving with Google Glass in Illinois may be banned in the future.
Ira Silverstein, an Illinois State Senator is looking to get the usage of Google Glass banned whilst your are driving your car in the state, and other US states which include New Jersey, Delaware and West Virginia are also looking into banning Glass whilst driving.
It’s just another way people will be distracted,” the Chicago Democrat told the Springfield bureau of Lee Enterprises newspapers. “People’s attention to the road should not be interrupted.”
It will be interesting to see what happens in the various states that are looking to ban the usage of Google Glass whilst driving, and we are also waiting to hear what the outcome will be for the case where Cecilia Abadie received a citation for wearing Google Glass whilst driving.
We would love to hear from our readers on this, let us know what you think, should people be allowed to wear Google Glass whilst driving?
