Drone manufacturer DJI has today announced the rollout of a new update to its DJI GO application which brings with it new GEO Geofencing features which have been added to help pilots stay out of sensitive locations and protect airports, Wildfire Operations and other services.
The DJI GO app is used to control the companies Phantom and Inspire Quad copters and will now help pilots stay away from airports and other sensitive locations, and automatically update with temporary flight restrictions around wildfires, says DJI.
The new GEO system update is available for iOS and Android and is available on all Inspire models as well as the Phantom 4, Phantom 3 Professional and Phantom 3 Advanced models. Brendan Schulman, DJI Vice President of Policy and Legal Affair
Safety is DJI’s top priority, which is why we first introduced geofencing technology three years ago and have been steadily refining the industry’s best technology to enhance aviation safety. Drone pilots want to fly safely, and our GEO system helps DJI customers fly responsibly while also enabling the full capabilities of remotely piloted aircraft.
