There is a cool application for the iPhone, called Pocket Light Meter, which turns your iPhone into a light meter and will tell you what settings to use on your DSLR to get the best photo.
The app uses the camera on your iPhone to let yoy know what shutter speed, f-stop and ISO settings to select on your DSLR, the only problem with the app is that you need to hold your iPhone up to get the setting and then use your DSLR.
A dude called Nigel, thought it would be a good idea to create a gadget that could attach his iPhone to his DSLR, and as you can see from the photo above he came up with this very clever hotshoe attachment.
You can find out more details of how Nigel made his DIY Hotshoe attachement for the iPhone and his DSLR over at his blog.
