RepRap based in Copenhagen, Denmark has launched a new crowd funding camping this week to raise funds and awareness of their new Diamond Hotend single 3D printing nozzle that has been design specifically for multi-colour 3D printing.
Features of the new full colour 3D printing nozzle include that ability for it to provide a faster, easier and more precise method of 3d colour printing. Watch the video below to learn more.
So if your 3D printing would benefit from the ability to add three different element types to the printing process there are a number of early bird pledges available that provide everything you need to get up and running. Including the Diamond Nozzle, E3D heat sink together with a 3D printed mounting bracket, fan and heater. RepRap explains a little more about why they have opted for a single nozzle design.
“Today multi-color 3D printing with regular single nozzle hotends is possible but require you to fuse the filaments together before printing. This process is time-consuming and color changes are difficult to time and can only be made in the horizontal plane. Dual-hotend solutions are faster and offer better control but entails a different set of problems.
The Diamond Hotend is a single nozzle hotend for 3D printing in multiple colors that requires a minimum of calibration. It allows you to time exactly when and where the color changes and eliminates the problem with oozing nozzles. It allows you to feed three different types of filaments through one nozzle and provides a faster, easier and more precise method of 3D printing, at an affordable price with minimal filament waste.”
