David Attenborough’s VR experience Hold the World Is now available to Oculus Rift users allowing you to come face-to-face-to-face with David Attenborough in virtual reality. Sky customers enrolled in the free Sky VIP loyalty program, can access Hold the World for free via the Sky VR app in UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy. If not, you can now purchase the experience on the Oculus Store.
In “Hold the World,” Attenborough The world-renowned English broadcaster and naturalist takes you on a personal guided tour backstage at the Natural History Museum. Allowing you to study a blue whale, a trilobite, a dragonfly and a number of other formerly alive objects from the museum’s collection, weaving a factual narrative about their existence.
“The VR sets the experience apart from other nature documentaries not only because you are backstage at the museum, but because you can pick the VR objects up, hold them and enlarge what you’re looking at. Then, you’re transported out of the museum into a blue void where they’re brought to life at scale.”
‘Hold the World’ (2018) is an educational VR experience from Sky that lets you come face-to-face with Sir David Attenborough, the English broadcaster and world’s foremost naturalist, as he teaches you about a number of species going as far back at the Trilobyte and as recent as the flea. This segment demonstrates how a Pterosaur must have flown when it was alive more than 66 million years ago.
