First unveiled back in CES at the beginning of the year, D-Link has now announced that their new D-Link DGL-5500 gaming router will be finally launching in August.
The new D-Link DGL-5500 gaming router supports WiFi 802.11ac and will arrive in stores on the 1st August offering data rates of 1,300 Mbps. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
The D-Link DGL-5500 router is fitted with 4 x Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports WiFi a/b/g/n, and has been designed to filter your bandwidth traffic allowing games and the like to use the fastest bandwidth when required. D-Link explains a little more:
“Sophisticated traffic shaping engine intelligently manages your Internet connection using a combination of device and application as well as Crowd Sourced profile creation. Coupled with a Cloud Based updating system, the DGL-5500 expands its library of detected applications over time. App not detected? That’s ok, Streamboost can still classify the traffic from an non-detected application, ensuring the very best experience. Intelligent control of bandwidth resources, means the DGL-5500 Gaming Router AC1300 provides a lag and stutter free gaming experience”
