This is definitely one of the cooler PC mods we have seen here on Geeky Gadgets, the Overclocked Orange by modder David Penfold.
David took his inspiration for the mod from the film A Clockwork Orange, and using a Silverstone Tjo7 PC case he has created the Overclocked Orange.
Hardware Specifications
Inside the case is an Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard, an Intel Core i7-940 processor, 6GB of 1,600 MHz Corsair DDR3 RAM, and three Intel X25-M 80GB SSD Drives setup in Raid 0. This combination of high-end components ensures that the Overclocked Orange is not just a visual masterpiece but also a powerhouse in terms of performance.
Graphics come from three GeForce GTX 280 graphics cards in SLI, providing an exceptional gaming experience and the ability to handle the most demanding graphical tasks. The entire system is water-cooled, which is essential for maintaining stability and performance, especially given the significant overclocking involved. The processor is overclocked from its standard 2.93GHz to a massive 4.0GHz, showcasing the modder’s expertise in pushing hardware to its limits.
Design and Aesthetics
The design of the Overclocked Orange is a tribute to the iconic film “A Clockwork Orange.” The exterior of the case features a striking orange and black color scheme, reminiscent of the movie’s distinctive visual style. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the build, from the custom paint job to the meticulously arranged internal components.
The Silverstone Tjo7 case provides a solid foundation for the mod, offering ample space for the high-end hardware and the extensive water-cooling setup. The case’s design allows for excellent airflow, which is crucial for maintaining optimal temperatures during intense computing sessions.
This is definitely one of the coolest cases we have seen. The Clockwork Orange theme is very cool and adds a unique touch to the overall design. The combination of high-performance hardware and stunning aesthetics makes the Overclocked Orange a standout piece in the world of custom PC mods.
