With the latest Civilization VI game set to launch in a few months time on October 21st 2016 for PC, its creators 2K Games have unveiled a new Collector’s Edition version of the game which has been put together to celebrate 25 years of the Civilization franchise.
The Civilization VI collector’s edition contains a 100-page art book and a commemorative coin set, and only 20,000 copies will be produced and put on sale priced at $90 each.
Both the digital deluxe edition priced at $80 and the more expensive $90 limited edition version, include the game, 25th anniversary soundtrack and four post-launch DLC packs that include new Civilizations, maps, scenarios, and leaders. Those that pre-order the game before launch also get the Aztec civilization, which will be made available to all after 90 days for free.
Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy video game in which one or more players compete alongside computer-controlled AI opponents to grow their individual civilization from a small tribe to control of the entire planet across several periods of development. This can be accomplished by achieving one of several victory conditions, all based on the 4X gameplay elements, “eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate”.
