Anyone looking to easily control DMX lighting systems maybe interested in a new range of USB-DMX lighting interfaces called the Cipher that has been designed by Lucid Labs.
The Cipher has been created to provide an easy to use USB-DMX lighting interface that works with free to use software enabling you to get the most from your DMX lighting.
The Cipher allows control of 512 Channels of DMX lighting, is a fully isolated circuit, its computer is protected from surges and everything is encased in a heavy duty, powder coated aluminium enclosure fitted with a USB 2.0 to DMX 3 Pin Interface.
The Cipher project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. Its creators explain a little more :
“After spending hours setting up lights for a mutual friend’s band the founders of Lucid Labs decided that there must be a better option than expensive, difficult-to-setup analog DMX lighting control boards. We conducted some research and discovered an abundance of great free or low-cost DMX lighting control software; we just needed a USB to DMX interface.
Unfortunately existing products weren’t durable enough to handle the rigors of the road, and were far more expensive than they needed to be. We set out to create a cost effective, durable solution for DMX lighting control.
After creating our fully isolated professional model, so many friends were interested in DMX lighting control that we decided to branch out and make a more economical hobby model, the Cipher Lite, as well. Both models are capable of controlling 512 Channels of DMX lighting, the difference being that the professional model is fully isolated and features a much more durable enclosure.”
So if you think Cipher is something your DMX lighting system could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge and help Cipher become a reality.
