With the adoption of a 3D globe dial representing the flow of time in concert with the movement of the earth, EDIFICE’s Smartphone Link has evolved further in new attire. Connectivity with CASIO’s Accurate Time System keeps the EQB-600 accurate. By accessing a networked time server and combining time data from the server with its own database, the smartphone can acquire accurate time information worldwide. It’s the watch for men of the global age who live in more than one time simultaneously.
When the watch is linked to a smartphone, the time is corrected automatically anywhere in the world. Linkage provides immediate access to the times in over 300 cities, moreover, and makes apps available for conducting various settings, thus giving users easy control over a variety of watch functions.
Automatic time correction is conducted four times a day via the smartphone, adjusting both Home Time and World Time to the accurate current time without the usual trouble of manual time correction. When traveling across time zones, for example, users can reset their watch for the correct time in their current location quickly, taking Daylight Saving Time as well as the time difference into consideration, with just the push of a button.
This new time information function comes installed in the dedicated CASIO WATCH+ app. It provides access to precise (UTC) time information via a smartphone from time servers around the world. The system employs this time information and positioning information acquired by the smartphone to determine the time zone and Daylight Saving Time status of the current location and correct the time displayed by the watch automatically. Communication with time servers via the Internet through a Wi-Fi or other connection provides immediate access to the time anywhere in the world.
