When it comes to getting a custom case from most companies the best you can hope for is getting a couple colors that you can snap together to make your own creation. Case-Mate has a new DIY series of custom cases that you can really make your own by uploading any image you want to be made onto the case. Naturally, you can’t use copyrighted images on your case.
Basically, you can hop over to the case-mate site, choose either the Hybrid Tough Case or the Barely There cases for $39.99 and $34.99 respectively and then choose to upload your own pic or choose artwork from the case-mate gallery. The cases will fit the iPhone 4, 3G/3GS and the Blackberry 9700 or 8520 smartphones.
A version of the DIY cases for your iPod touch is also available. Images you upload need to be high resolution of at least 1650 x 1650. It seems you can use lower resolution images, but the final quality will suffer. This is a really cool idea and will be a great way to show off your kids, family, awesome car, or you pet.
