Canon is the latest company to announce a mirrorless camera with the launch of the Canon EOS M, which is the company’s first mirrorless camera and features an 18-megapixel sensor.
The Canon EOS M comes with an 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-12800, expandable to 25600 in H mode, and the ability to record Full HD video. This sensor is designed to deliver high-quality images with excellent detail and color accuracy, making it suitable for both amateur and professional photographers.
The EOS M features Canon’s DIGIC 5 image processor, which is used in their range of DSLRs. This powerful processor ensures fast performance and high image quality, even in challenging lighting conditions. The camera also comes with a Hybrid CMOS 31-point auto-focus system, which combines phase-detection and contrast-detection AF methods to provide quick and accurate focusing.
Advanced Touchscreen and User Interface
One of the standout features of the Canon EOS M is its 3-inch touchscreen 1.04m dot LCD display. The multi-touch display offers intuitive controls, such as pinch-to-zoom and swipe navigation, making it easy to review and manage your photos and videos. The touchscreen interface is designed to be user-friendly, allowing photographers to quickly adjust settings and access various functions without having to navigate through complex menus.
Additionally, the EOS M includes a range of creative filters and shooting modes, such as HDR, panorama, and time-lapse, providing users with the tools to experiment and enhance their photography. The camera also supports continuous shooting at up to 4.3 frames per second, allowing you to capture fast-moving subjects with ease.

Lens Compatibility and Accessories
Canon will launch the EOS M in October, and it will retail for $799.99 with an EF-M 22mm F/2 STM kit lens. The EF-M 22mm F/2 STM lens offers a versatile focal length and a bright aperture, allowing for excellent low-light performance and beautiful background blur.
In addition to the kit lens, there will also be a range of other lenses available at launch. Canon has developed a new line of EF-M lenses specifically for the EOS M system, including wide-angle, telephoto, and macro options. These lenses are designed to provide high-quality optics and seamless integration with the camera’s autofocus and image stabilization systems.
For photographers who already own Canon EF and EF-S lenses, Canon offers an optional Mount Adapter EF-EOS M. This adapter allows you to use your existing lenses with the EOS M, providing greater flexibility and expanding your creative possibilities.
The Canon EOS M also supports a variety of accessories, such as external flashes, remote controls, and microphones, allowing you to customize your setup to suit your specific needs.
