Vinyl stickers offer a great and cost-effective way of customising your laptops outer case, but provides little or no protection against bumps or knocks, and once applied cannot easily be removed without ruining the vinyl.
The Jolt Team has created something different that offers a Lego brick style solution, that allows you to customise your laptop case whilst adding protection to your laptop in the form of the Brik Case.
The Brik Case project is currently over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website looking to raise $30,000 in pledges to make the jump from concept to production. Its creators explain :
“Brik Case is the World’s most customizable laptop case. Build, collaborate and express yourself! Some people like to spice up their laptops with stickers on the back. We couldn’t help thinking, though, that stickers are sticky. Plus, once they’re stuck, you’re stuck. So we designed a case that permits constant change, collaboration, and originality.
The Brik Case will be compatible with MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs manufactured in 2013 and later. Toy bricks are fun, colorful, and intuitive. It’s hard to resist the urge to build. Our case is compatible with all major toy brick brands, which means the sky is the limit! 1×1 bricks are perfect for the Brik Case. Slide the case in and out of backpacks and bags without losing any bricks.”
** This case is not officially licensed by LEGO™, Mega Bloks, PixelBlocks, KRE-O, or K’NEX Bricks™. It just happens to be compatible with all of them.
So if you think Brik Case is something your Macbook could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge from $30 and help the Brik Case become a reality via the link below.
