Last week we reported a number of Boxee users who had updated their Boxee Box to the latest 1.1 version were experiencing a few silent problems with their surround sound audio. Well if you have been one of these people you will be pleased to now Boxee have now released a new firmware update to fix the problem and restore your surround sound.
Version 1.1.1 was rolled out by Boxee and enables allows users to matrix stereo audio sources through their surround sound setup once again and if you prefer volume control to be on, a simply click of a setting will re-enable it for you.
However the system will still not decode Dolby TrueHD to 5.1 channel PCM internally, which was originally intended by Boxee due to the licensing between Dolby and D-Link.
The new update should automatically be downloaded over the next few days, but if you just cant eait that long you can manually download the update from Boxee.
