Adafruit has this week announced the availability of a tiny Bluetooth Low Energy Module in the form of the nRF51822 which measures just 18.0mm x 10.0mm x 2.9mm in size and is now available to purchase priced at $7.95. The Raytac nRF51822 module provides 16K and 32K RAM options with Chip Antenna and PCB Antenna for selection and the module comes supplied with a blank chip.
Aadfruit explains little more. “If you have a custom PCB design and you’d like to add a little Bluetooth Low Energy, this module is ultra compact and easy to use. It contains a Nordic nRF51822 Cortex M0 chip that comes integrated with BLE radio as well as most of the supporting circuitry and even a chip antenna. The whole thing is in a tin and comes with FCC, CE and TELEC certifications.” Check out the video below to learn more about the new products and arrivals at Adafruit this month.
