Blizzard has today confirmed that its new Overwatch game that is currently in development, will be launching on the next generation consoles in the form of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Earlier this week information was leaked via GameStop but as then had not been confirmed by Blizzard so had to be taken with a pinch of salt. As you can see from the image above the new Overwatch game is now available to preorder offering a couple of pre-order bonuses and will be launching during the spring of 2016.
To recap Overwatch is a team based first person shooter and has enjoy a little beta testing back in October. More details are expected to be announced by the publisher during the official BlizzCon keynote that takes place tomorrow.
Overwatch will feature squad-based combat with two opposing teams of six players each.[1] Players choose one of several hero characters, each with their own unique abilities and role classes. The four character roles include: offense-oriented characters with high speed and attack but low defense, defense-oriented characters meant to form choke points for enemies, support characters that provide buffs and debuffs for their allies and enemies respectively, such as healing or speed alterations, and tank characters that have a large amount of armor and hit points to withstand enemy attacks.
