Cyclists looking for a new and innovative way to secure their bikes might be interested in a new lock which is being created called the BitLock Bike Lock.
The BitLock Bike Lock has been designed to use your smartphone to control whether the lock is locked or open and has been designed by Mesh Motion Inc based in San Francisco, California. The BitLock Bike Lock is the very first keyless bike lock and is currently over on the Kickstarter website looking to raise enough pledges to make the jump from concept to production. The BitLock bike lock currently supports a range of both iOS and Android smartphones and devices.
The BitLock Bike Lock system allows you to share access to your bike and its location with friends and family enabling you to either grant or revoke access to the lock my your smartphone application.
The application supplied with a lock also records the location of your bike via GPS so you never not be able to find your bike again and is especially handy if you are sharing bikes with another person who might have left the bike in a different location.
