Bitcasa Unlimited Cloud Storage

Bitcasa the cloud storage company that made a name for itself by offering customers unlimited cloud storage via its Infinite plan, has today announced that unfortunately it has too close the Bitcasa unlimited cloud storage package due to abuse and underuse.

While closing the Bitcasa unlimited cloud storage on November 15th 2014, Bitcasa has also announced a range of new packages that are available ranging from 1TB up to 10TB. 1 TB for $9.99 per month, 1 TB for $99.00 per year or 10 TB for $999.00 per year.

If you are already using the Bitcasa cloud storage for files, media and photographs you will need to migrate your storage to one of the new Bitcasa packages or else where before November 15th 2015. Bitcasa explained in a blog post today :

“While our Infinite offering was one of our early value propositions, we have since found that only a small percentage of people use it (only 0.5 percent of our accounts require more than 1TB, and less than 0.1 percent require more than 10TB).

Please know that plan changes are difficult decisions we don’t take lightly. In our ongoing efforts to keep costs low and minimize rate increases, on occasion we must make adjustments to our business model. We apologize for any inconvenience.

But to keep our zero-knowledge encryption in place for your account, you will need to transfer your account and all of your data over to the new Bitcasa system. For those with Free, Premium, and Pro plans, this process should be quick and painless, however we do apologize for any inconvenience.”

Other could storage options available include the following :

Apple iCloud
– 5 GB for free
– 20 GB for $0.99 per month
– 200 GB for $3.99 per month
– 1 TB for 20.00 per month (240.00 per year)

Google Drive
– 15 GB for free
– 100 GB for $1.99 per month
– 1 TB for $9.99 per month

Dropbox
– 1 TB for 9.99 Per Month
– 1 TB for 99.00 per Year

MediaFire
– 15 GB for free (up to 50 gigs with referrals)
– 1 TB for $2.50 Per Month
– 1 TB for $24.99 Per year
