Apple has kicked off its iPhone trade-in program, giving iPhone 4/4S users a chance to upgrade to the latest iPhone 5S, but giving them a credit for their old handset.
If you’re thinking about getting yourself a the forward-thinking iPhone 5S, Best Buy is also offering an attractive trade-in program. However, it’s only for this weekend. If you have an iPhone 5/4S/4, Best Buy is offering a credit of up to $200, which can be used to purchase the new iPhone 5S/5C.
The deal is a little confusing, but we’ll break it up for you. Best Buy is already offering a discount on iPhone 5S and 5C tied to Verizon and Sprint, while the AT&T version goes for its usual selling price. The 16GB iPhone 5S for Sprint and Verizon comes with a $100 price tag, while the iPhone 5C on both carriers is available for $50.
Now, if you have an iPhone 5, you could get the iPhone 5S for free, thanks to the minimum $200 gift card. However, you must sign up a contract with AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. Verizon and Sprint iPhone 4S users can also get the iPhone 5S for free, as they’ll get a $150 credit at least towards the purchase of a new iPhone, while AT&T users have to shell out just $50 for the device. Lastly, iPhone 4 users on Verizon and Sprint can get the iPhone 5S 16GB version for free as well, thanks to the $100 gift card, while AT&T users must pay $100.
Just make sure the device you’re trading is in working condition, has no water damage or screen cracks, and you could avail the gift card.
