If you would like to distil your own spirits at home you may be interested in a fully automated home distillery called the AutoAlc, which is equipped with a 13 gallon tank at its base and allows you to create your very own vodka, gin or whiskey. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the unique design of the home distillery which has this week launched via Kickstarter to raise the £20,000 it requires to make the jump into production.
Pledges start from £895 for earlybird backers with delivery expected to take place during January 2018. AutoAlc has been in development for the last two years and is now available in its first generation device the AutoAlc 1.0. The creator of the unique home distillery system explains more about its inspiration and design :
The idea is to provide complete programmable distilling at the touch of a button. Deposit your brewed mash into the huge 13 gallon tank at the base, select a preset such as vodka, gin or whiskey and let the distillation run until complete. As explained in the video the initial campaign will not have the automatic features unless we hit stretch goals however even as a manual distiller it still performs fantastically for any home or commercial setup.
The side collection tank is fully removable should you wish to substitute it for your own tank or indeed have multiple tanks. The side collection tanks will be available in left or right variations to fit with your preferred design ascetic. Please add £195 for the side tank or £345 for 2 tanks (you can mix left and right). The column of the still features 5 perforated plates with easy access for cleaning or adding material such as copper wool via the sight glass. Every sightglass is removable including the large 6 inch one on the main tank. AutoAlc has an integrated 3 inch diameter column which creates a safer gas tight seal than traditional designs.
