Audio-Technica has launched a new set of noise cancelling headphones called the ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint active noise-cancelling over-ear headphones. The new headphones take pride of place at the top of Audio-Technica range and are priced at $300. The new headphones are equipped with new Tri-Level Cancellation with three preset filter for noise reduction, to reduce outside noise by up to 95 percent say Audio-Technica.
The ATH-ANC9 headphones are equipped with 40mm drivers, and need a AAA battery for noise cancelling, but will function even when a battery is not installed, or lost its charge.
“Audio-Technica’s Tri-Level Cancellation function offers three unique mode settings for active noise cancellation to suit various noise environments. Mode 1 is ideal for use on aeroplanes, trains, and buses, applying maximum noise cancellation to low frequencies. Mode 2 is designed especially for use in noisy offices or crowded places and targets mid-range frequencies while Mode 3 is best suited for use in already-quiet environments like libraries, creating a pristine, peaceful environment ideal for study.”
The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint headphones also come supplied with a in-line mic and remote, replaceable memory foam earpads, and are iOS compatible.
