Asus recently announced a new version of their Transformer Prime tablet, the Asus Transformer Prime TF700, which features a higher resolution display than the existing Transformer Prime tablet.
The new Transformer Prime TF700 features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and it is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor. According to a recent Asus statement, it looks like it won’t be available in the UK until at least June.
In relation to the recently-announced TF700 model, this product is unlikely to be available in the UK before June at the earliest and no pricing details have been announced.
Enhanced Display and Performance
One of the standout features of the Asus Transformer Prime TF700 is its enhanced display. The 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution offers a significant improvement over the original Transformer Prime, making it ideal for watching high-definition videos, playing games, and browsing the web with crystal-clear clarity. The Super IPS+ display technology ensures that the screen remains bright and vibrant even under direct sunlight, making it perfect for outdoor use.
The quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor is another major upgrade. This powerful processor not only enhances the overall performance of the tablet but also ensures smooth multitasking and a responsive user experience. Whether you’re running multiple apps simultaneously or playing graphics-intensive games, the TF700 is designed to handle it all with ease.
Camera and Storage Options
Other specifications on the Asus Transformer Prime TF700 include a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, which is perfect for video calls and selfies. The back of the device features a new design, plus an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and an LED flash. This rear camera is capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos, making it a versatile tool for both casual and professional photography.
The device will also be available with a choice of either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of storage. This range of storage options ensures that users can choose a model that best suits their needs, whether they require ample space for apps and media or prefer a more budget-friendly option. Additionally, the TF700 supports expandable storage via a microSD card slot, providing even more flexibility for users who need extra space.
While Asus hasn’t released any UK pricing, they did announce that each version of the TF700 would be $100 more than the standard model in the US. So we can expect a similar price here in the UK for the Transformer Prime TF700 and suspect that the new model will cost around £100 more than the existing model.
Additional Features and Connectivity
The Asus Transformer Prime TF700 also comes with a range of additional features that enhance its functionality. It includes a robust battery that offers extended usage time, making it ideal for long trips or all-day use without needing frequent recharges. The tablet also supports a variety of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, ensuring that users can stay connected wherever they go.
Moreover, the TF700 is compatible with the Asus Transformer keyboard dock, which transforms the tablet into a full-fledged laptop. This accessory not only provides a physical keyboard for more comfortable typing but also includes additional ports and an extra battery, further extending the device’s versatility and battery life.
The Asus Transformer Prime TF700 is a significant upgrade over its predecessor, offering a higher resolution display, improved performance, and a range of new features. While it may come at a higher price point, the enhancements and added functionalities make it a compelling choice for anyone in the market for a high-end tablet.
