Last week Asus announced that their Transformer Prime tablet would be available in the UK from last Thursday, and the company said that it would be in stock at a number of stores as well as online stores.
There was just one problem with the announcement from Asus, nobody was able to get their hands on the Transformer Prime tablet in the UK, and people who had pre-ordered the device from companies like Amazon were also told that their pre-orders were not available yet.
This caused a lot of confusion, and we received a number of emails from readers and also comments, who were less than impressed with Asus, the company has now released an official statement which you can see below.
Sorry for the delay in response. ASUS have been working all day with our retailers to try and fulfill back orders. Unfortunately due to high demand this has not been possible. However we are shipping more stock over the coming weeks. Please contact your retailer for dates. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
So it looks like people who want to get their hands on a new Transformer Prime tablet will have to wait at least a few weeks, and we don’t as yet have any specific dates on when the device will be available.
Asus could have avoided all this confusion, as well as avoiding upsetting their customers by announcing last week that the first batch of Transformer Prime tablets had been sold out and they were releasing more over the next few weeks.
