We heard earlier that Apple had released their tenth beta of iOS 11 and now we have a speed test between iOS 11 Beta 10 vs iOS 10.3.3.
In the video below, the iOS 11 beta 10 is compared side by side with the current release, which is iOS 10.3.3. The software is run on two iPhone 6 handsets.
As we can see from the video, the iOS 10.3.3 booted up faster than the iOS 11 beta 10. This should change by the time the final version of iOS is released.
Performance and Features
While the boot-up speed is an important aspect of performance, it is not the only factor to consider. iOS 11 brings a plethora of new features and improvements over iOS 10.3.3. For instance, iOS 11 introduces a redesigned Control Center, which is now customizable and more user-friendly. Additionally, the new Files app provides a centralized location for all your files, making file management more efficient.
Another significant improvement is the enhanced multitasking capabilities on the iPad, which include a new Dock, improved Slide Over, and Split View functionalities. These features make it easier to switch between apps and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Battery Life and Stability
Battery life is another critical factor for many users. Beta versions of software often have bugs and performance issues that can drain the battery faster than stable releases. While iOS 11 beta 10 may show some battery inefficiencies, these are expected to be resolved in the final release. Apple has been known to optimize battery performance in the final stages of their software development.
Stability is also a concern with beta software. Users may experience crashes, app incompatibilities, and other issues that can affect the overall user experience. However, these issues are typically ironed out by the time the final version is released. iOS 11 is expected to be more stable and reliable, offering a smoother user experience compared to its beta versions.
We are expecting Apple to release their new iOS 11 software sometime in the week of the 18th of September. Their new iPhone 8, which will come with iOS 11, is expected to go on sale on the 22nd of September.
In conclusion, while iOS 10.3.3 may currently have a faster boot-up time compared to iOS 11 beta 10, the final release of iOS 11 is expected to bring significant improvements in performance, features, battery life, and stability. The new features and enhancements in iOS 11 make it a compelling upgrade for users, despite the initial performance differences observed in the beta version.
