As we heard earlier, Apple has released the second beta of iOS 11.1. The software is now available for developers and members of Apple’s public beta testing program.
New Emoji and Features
The iOS 11.1 software brings a new range of Emoji to the iPhone and iPad, significantly expanding the variety of expressive icons available to users. This update includes hundreds of new Emoji characters, such as new smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures, and more. These additions allow users to communicate more creatively and inclusively.
In addition to the new Emoji, iOS 11.1 also introduces several other features and improvements. One of the most notable is the return of 3D Touch Multitasking. This feature, which was removed in earlier versions of iOS 11, allows users to quickly switch between apps by pressing firmly on the left edge of the screen. The reintroduction of this feature has been highly anticipated by many users who found it to be a convenient way to manage their multitasking needs.
Performance Enhancements and Bug Fixes
Beyond the new features, iOS 11.1 also includes a range of performance enhancements and bug fixes. Apple has focused on improving the overall stability and responsiveness of the operating system. Users can expect smoother animations, faster app launches, and more reliable performance across their devices. Additionally, several bugs that were present in previous versions of iOS 11 have been addressed, including issues with battery life, Bluetooth connectivity, and app crashes.

As yet, we do not have a confirmed release date for the final version of iOS 11.1. However, we are expecting the software to be released possibly sometime this month or maybe early next month. Apple is releasing their new iPhone X on the 3rd of November, and it is plausible that the iOS 11.1 update could be rolled out around the same time to coincide with the launch of the new device.
The iPhone X, with its edge-to-edge display and advanced Face ID technology, represents a significant leap forward in smartphone design and functionality. The release of iOS 11.1 alongside the iPhone X would ensure that users have access to the latest software enhancements and features, providing an optimal experience on Apple’s newest flagship device.
The second beta of iOS 11.1 brings a host of exciting new features, including a vast array of new Emoji, the return of 3D Touch Multitasking, and numerous performance improvements and bug fixes. As Apple continues to refine and enhance its operating system, users can look forward to a more stable and feature-rich experience on their iPhones and iPads. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the official release of iOS 11.1.
