As well as launching a new range of iMac’s, Apple [AAPL] has also launched a new unibody Macbook. The good news is that the price of the Macbook will stay the same at just $999.
The new unibody Macbook features a built-in battery that will give you up to 7 hours of usage on a single charge. It also comes with a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display and a glass multi-touch touchpad.

Technical Specifications and Performance
The new Macbook features a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 3MB on-chip shared L2 cache. This ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing, document editing, and multimedia consumption. The base model comes with 2GB of RAM, which can be upgraded to 4GB for those who need more memory for multitasking or running more demanding applications.
Storage is handled by a 250GB hard drive, providing ample space for documents, photos, and videos. For connectivity, the Macbook includes built-in 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, two USB 2.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort, and Gigabit Ethernet. This makes it easy to connect to various peripherals and networks, whether at home, in the office, or on the go.
Graphics are powered by an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM. This GPU is capable of handling light to moderate graphic tasks, including photo editing and casual gaming. The inclusion of a Mini DisplayPort allows users to connect the Macbook to external displays, making it a versatile option for presentations and extended desktop setups.
Design and User Experience
The new unibody design of the Macbook is not just about aesthetics; it also contributes to the laptop’s durability and portability. The unibody construction is crafted from a single piece of aluminum, making it both lightweight and robust. This design choice also allows for a thinner profile, making the Macbook easy to carry around.
The 13.3-inch LED-backlit display offers vibrant colors and sharp details, making it ideal for watching movies, editing photos, or working on graphic design projects. The glass multi-touch touchpad is another standout feature, providing a smooth and responsive user experience. Multi-touch gestures such as pinch-to-zoom, swipe, and rotate are supported, making navigation intuitive and efficient.
Audio quality is enhanced by built-in stereo speakers, which deliver clear and balanced sound. Whether you’re listening to music, watching videos, or participating in video calls, the audio experience is impressive for a laptop of this size.
The 8x slot-loading SuperDrive is a versatile addition, allowing users to read and write CDs and DVDs. This is particularly useful for those who still rely on physical media for software installation, backups, or media playback.
The new unibody Macbook is available today from Apple. With its combination of performance, design, and user-friendly features, it offers excellent value for both casual users and professionals.
