The iPhone 4 features a new design with an engineered glass back and a stainless steel band around the middle of the iPhone, and with the recent iPhone 4 reception issues, and Apple’s iPhone 4 announcement it may be a good idea to use a case with your new iPhone 4.
Apple makes a case for the iPhone 4 called the bumper case, it basically fits around the stainless steel band around the middle of the iPhone 4, the bumper case is slightly raised from the back glass and the front glass of the iPhone 4, meaning you can place it on a desk without either side of the glass touching the surface you place it on.
The iPhone 4 bumper case fits the iPhone 4 pretty well and it gives you access to the iPhone sync port, headphones and it has a button for the power button and also buttons for the up and down volume buttons.
You also have access to mute switch, although it is quite difficult to get at and you basically need to use your fingernail to get to it.
Overall the iPhone 4 Bumper case does a pretty good job with protecting your iPhone 4, there are a few minor problems with it like the access to the mute switch.
Apple sells the iPhone 4 bumper case for $29, and it is available in a range of different colors which include, black as per the one we tested, orange, blue, pink, green and white.
Personally I think the iPhone 4 Bumper Case is slightly overpriced for what it is, Apple could have sold it for $19.99 and still made a healthy profit.
If you are looking for an iPhone 4 case that won’t spoil the iPhone design then you may want to check out the bumper case, otherwise there are quite a few other case available which are more reasonably priced.
