When Apple [AAPL] announced their new iPad we didn’t see anything on the UK Apple website until a couple of days later, now Apple has updated their site and confirmed when the iPad will be available in the UK.
Although Apple still hasn’t released any pricing information for the UK as yet, the iPad will probably be slightly more expensive in the UK. In the US the base model will retail for $499, this would translate to £315 at todays exchange rate, but the UK version will probably retail for around £399 for the base model.
Apple has confirmed the the WiFi Apple iPad will be available in the UK some time in March, and the WiFi and 3G iPad some time in April. There are still no details as yet on which mobile phone carriers in the UK will offer the iPad, and whether it will be offered for a subsidized cost with a mobile data contract.
We will keep you guys updated as soon as we find out more details of the UK pricing and availability of the Apple iPad.
