Apple announced their new larger iPad at their press event yesterday and we now have the full iPad Pro specifications as well as details on the release date and price of Apple’s new tablet.
The iPad Pro is Apple’s largest tablet to date, the device comes with a 12.9 inch Retina display that has a resolution of 2732 x 2048 pixels and 264 ppi.
Other iPad Pro specifications include Apple’s new A9X processor which according to Apple is 1.8 times faster than the Apple A8X processor, it also comes with a new M9 motion coprocessor.
On the front of the iPad Pro there is a FaceTime HD camera which can record 720p video, the camera also comes with face detection, backside illumination and more. The rear camera on the tablet is an 8 megapixel iSight camera with backside illumination and a five element lens, it comes with a f/2.4 aperture and a Hybrid IR filter.
The new iPad Pro also comes with Apple’s Touch ID and a fingerprint sensor, the device will be available in both WiFi only and WiFi and cellular models.
Sensors come in the form of a three axis gyro, an accelerometer, a barometer and an ambient light sensor. The WiFi model will be available with a choice of two storage options 32GB and 128GB, the cellular model will come with 128GB of storage.
There are also new speakers in the iPad Pro, it four stereo speakers that are located at each corner of the tablet. The device comes with a 38.5 watt-hour battery that will give you up to 10 hours of usage over WiFi and up to 9 hours of usage over LTE.
Apple also introduced a new Stylus with the iPad Pro, this is called the Apple Pencil and it will retail for $100.
The iPad Pro will launch in three colors, silver, gold and Space Grey, prices for Apple’s new tablet will start at $799 for the 32GB WiFi model, the 128GB WiFi model will retail for $949 and the 128GB cellular model will retail for $1,079.
Apple have said that they will launch their new larger iPad in November, as yet there are no details on a specific release date.
