Earlier this month it was revealed that there are now over 2,600 applications available to load all the new Apple TV set-top box. Expanding on this and to help users understand which Apple App Store applications are supported by the new Apple TV.
A new update to the iOS App Store now reveals which applications are supported by the Apple TV, making it easier to make decisions when searching for universal application that support multiple devices.
Now the App Store listings include ‘Apple TV: Yes’ labels in the iOS app store description, if the application is supported by the new TV set-top box. Meaning that the application in question also has a universal Apple TV app available in the tvOS App Store.
Apple has also rolled a new update to the Apple TV hardware this week in the form of tvOS 9.1 which is now available to download and install on your hardware. The BBC iPlayer application has also launched to day and is now also available on the latest Apple TV hardware.
