Apple and IBM have announced a new partnership for enterprise, the two companies will work together to produce new enterprise apps for the iPhone and iPad.
IBM will be recommending Apple’s devices to business customers, and they have launched a new software enterprise initiative which is called MobileFirst.
iPhone and iPad are the best mobile devices in the world and have transformed the way people work with over 98 percent of the Fortune 500 and over 92 percent of the Global 500 using iOS devices in their business today,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “For the first time ever we’re putting IBM’s renowned big data analytics at iOS users’ fingertips, which opens up a large market opportunity for Apple. This is a radical step for enterprise and something that only Apple and IBM can deliver.”
IBM will be selling iPhones and iPads direct to business customers, these devices will come with industry specific solutions, which will include more than 100 specific solutions for different industries, this will also include native applications, which have been developed exclusively for Apple’s iOS devices.
There will also be some new unique IBM cloud solutions that have been developed for iOS, this will include security, device management, analytics and more. Apple will also launch a new AppleCare service which is designed to meet the needs of business and enterprise.
