Apple already has CarPlay, and now Google has announced their new in car system called Android Auto. The new in car service will bring a range of features to your vehicle.
Google have managed to team up with a wide range of car makers for Android Auto, the list includes premium brands like Bentley, Audi, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and more.
Android Auto, which we showed to developers today, takes care of that for you. Just connect your Android phone to a car with Android Auto, and you’ll have what you need at your fingertips such as turn-by-turn navigation from Google Maps, your curated playlists and radio stations through Play Music, simple-to-use voice search, and reminders from Google Now. This is accessible through your car’s controls, and more importantly, is far safer than fumbling around with your phone. You’ll start to see Android Auto in cars later this year.
Also included in the list are the likes of Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Nissan, Mazda, Fiat, Acura, Ford, KIA, Opel, Seat, Volvo, Volkswagen, Subaru, Renault, Seat and Skoda.
Android Auto will allow you to use Google Maps in your vehicle, you will also be able to listen to music, and use apps and voice commands with your Android device in your car.
Android Auto will be headed to a wide range of vehicles from the above manufacturers later in the year, you can find out more information about the system over at Google at the link below.
